The hot water heater was broken when we arrived, which took 2 days to fix. The building is far from safe. The floors are squishy. The rooms were disgusting. Dirty blankets with wet stains one night, and a bathroom that smelled so strongly of rot we could not take showers nor leave the door open. The doors are so flimsy you can see the cheap automatic lighting flick on and off ALL NIGHT LONG, and one of those nights, someone knocked on our door (twice) at 2am. Worst hotel ever. You're paying for location here. I don't have much experience with hotels in Europe, but this wasn't anything more than a bed and a bathroom. The shower leaked all over the floor, and it was tiny, but it's in a prime location for a moderate cost. Jonathan, from USA ~ 31st May 2012

The location was great. The room was small unlike what the photos advertise for, but I have to say it was clean. The breakfast is not included in the room's rent you have to pay for that separately. My friend and I stayed at Hotel St. Nicolas were very happy with the location. Both her and I are in our early 20's we were super excited that the hotel had such a perfect location to the bars and nightlife. Also, it was extremely close to the historical center, particularly Grand Place. The beds and the rooms were clean and comfortable, and our balcony gave us an incredible view. Excellent location in the heart of the city, walking distance from central station, surounded by pedestrian streets lined with shops, bars & restaurants! The hotel itself is nothing special, but does the job. They claim to be eco friendly, but other than the request to use towels more than once, we didn't notice anything about that. Excellent location. No second word for that. Right next to the Grand Palace. All of the touristic spots in Brussels can be explored by foot if you stay in this hotel.
