International Youth Hostel Lijiang in Ulaanbaatar, Kiina

The location was good and the staff helpful. Unfortunately the room was dank, cold, and in moldy.The bottom third of each of the walls was covered in mold, so badly that it was actually hard to breathe.The shower was similarly molded, but had a sour smell all of it's own.Between that, the damp chill, and the poor lighting, it was the most depressing place we stayed in Yunnan.The second floor rooms may be nicer, but are expensive enough that you may as well stay in a hotel instead. We have stayed at hostels all over the world and we have given GREAT reviews and not so great reviews.This one is worse than not so great.Positives first:The location and directions are great. The front desk staff try and are helpful.After that - forget it.Our room (a double bed ensuite) was a disaster!The walls were so covered with mold that they had nailed plastic wood paneling over part of it to hide the mold.
