A good hostel, close to the subway and with nice bathrooms adjoined to each dorm. Recommended.

We stayed in a mixed 12-bed dorm in late September, and the heat almost killed me. It was so hot in their you could barely breathe let alone sleep. Apart from this it seemed like a great budget place to stay but if its a hot time of year definately think twice about staying in the bigger rooms _ definately not more than one night!

Staff was not plesent. No breakfast and kitchen facility. Rooms and beds were tight and small.

This hostel is the worst we´ve visited during our traveling. There was only one bathroom for twelve persons. Then there were no kitchen, fridge, cooker, dishes. Only one microwave. It was absolutely deficient for its price. And during night we heard noise from near room and we could not sleep. Never more.

If I would go to NY again, I would stay in Jazz on the city again. Although they had very (!) big trouble with the reservations that week (people were moved daily from one room to another one and even had to sleep on the floor - except us :O)) the stuff stayed friendly and helpful. Met a lot of interesting people. Roomes were cleaned daily! Few steps to the metro, many good and cheap restaurants around the corner. Had a gread time!!

If answering machine asks to leave a msg staff should check the msgs and act accordingly. Also when there are empty beds why is the staff selling sold out at the desk? Marvelously clean bathroom and free wireless access for your _own_ computer. Good cleaning, ok roof terrace.

A good experience. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Building was older, and a bit crowded at times due to small hallways/stairwells, but was clean and well cared-for. Subway is close, as well as nice restaurants and other needs - pharmacy, coffee shop, etc. Central Park just a few blocks away. Surprisingly little street noise in the dorms. Very quiet.Twelve-bed female dorm had ensuite bathroom, which was great, but bathroom only contained one toilet and one shower - not as great, but simply

Bad place. Rude employees. Dirty rooms and bathrooms. Never came back there.

Good place to stay if you're going to hang at the Hostel. Very easy place to socialize with a large rooftop patio and lounge. Just a couple blocks from Central Park and right around the corner from the Subway station. Nothing too exciting around for nightlife.

In entering the building no one asked to see ID anyone could enter. Came home one night to find a stranger in my bed and he was not even staying in the hostel. Would i recommend it not sure. Sorry!
