Merrilee is a great!She is very helpful and can answer any questions you have.Be prepared to use the maps it is very easy to get lost!The hostel is a house and very clean and comfortable.Newport is a great little town.I enjoyed walking around to look at the mansions and shop. Worth a serious detour. Newport is a marvellous place for a wander, and the owner's guided tour of Newport by night finishing with the harbour tour will be one of the more memorable parts of your holiday. Phil W Gt Britain Philip, from England ~ 4th Jul 2012

The hostess called me several times the day of check-in to see when I would get there I felt like I had another mother.She's very nice, just socially aggressive.Good price for off-season (winter) stays, and within walking distance of the popular wharf area.She also pointed out the best things to do in town, which was invaluable. excellent experience! beautiful, clean home in a fantastic location. I enjoyed that they were single beds as opposed to bunk beds. The owner gave a thorough and interesting free walking tour that was lovely on a warm night under the full moon. The only tricky part was having to share a bathroom that was inside another bedroom however, I was able to use an upstairs bathroom for a shower.
