Great location, by lots of good street food, and easy walking distance to all the major sights of Georgetown, Penang. The hostel has a nice, quiet vibe - very relaxed, and definitely not a party hostel. The old converted shophouse building was unique and felt like an authentic place to stay in the area. More authentic than the hostels next door, at least. The travellers all seemed to be in their own bubble, and not very social (many sat around using the wifi in the evenings) - but that's OK by Nicholas, from USA ~ 1st Apr 2012

Absolutely fabulous. A really good place to stay in Penang! It is very clean, staff is friendly and the builing and rooms very nice. I extended, because the hostel and Penang are so nice. Sylvia, from Germany ~ 17th Mar 2012

Nice and helpful staff. There's a lot to discover around the area, including little india and some mosques, temples and old buildings of style. Ming, from China ~ 22nd Feb 2012

The place has a good atmosphere, it's a old shophouse. It draws a chilled crowd, and the toilet and showers are very clean. Staff was friendly and smiling, we enjoyed our stay there. The only problem is the noise from the street. I would go there again, but next time I will choose a room not on the main road. Cristiano, from Italy ~ 10th Feb 2012

I thought that 40 RMS was a lttle steep even for an aircon box with no windows.Staff were friendly and helpfull though.Brekfast was toast and various jams hardly inspiring but ok if you cannot be bothered to walk the 50 meters or so to experience real Malaysian food.I was glad that I could bopok on ine as I flew directly from UK via KL,in one go . paul, from England ~ 3rd Feb 2012
