Everyone was very friendly. I really enjoyed the murals on the walls and the artistic nature of the hostel. The bathrooms and showers are utterly disgusting, but I guess they do work. Overall, if you're looking for a cheap place to stay, this isn't a bad option, but there may be better ones. David, from USA ~ 21st Mar 2012

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this hostel to anyone. It is very well located, but that's the only good thing about it. It's dirty, smelly, dark, there are some huuuge stairs to get to the dorms, and the breakfast is really, really poor. Not worthy at all. I had lots of fun at Palermo House. All of the staff were really nice and helpful and the other people staying here were also amazing and fun to be around. Ok, so overall Palermo house was an enjoyable stay. Staff, location, party factor and the ease of meeting people were the by far highlights. If you are someone high maintenance though, you may have a few issues with bathrooms. However, if you are looking for fun and a great atmosphere don't miss PH. Great hostel with lots of character,staff are really friendly and speak very good english!we booked a 9 man dorm but they upgraded us to a 6 man dorm for the same price which was great.the common are is like no other i have ever been to,so cool and chilled out!would defo stay here again!!!!!!!!!!!! louis, from Scotland ~ 1st Nov 2011

So cheap its hard to complain but there were some problems. Freezing showers almost all the time.... Bathrooms often dirty and pretty horrible.. Really bad light in the room.. . . Broken bed. . . Very artsy neo-hippy type spot. Value and location are both great. Staff was friendly and helpful. They don't let you bring in outside alcohol but they sell beer and wine pretty cheap and there's almost always reunion in the common area at night. Biggest complaint would be that the room had no windows and my roomates had the habit of sleeping all day.
