The hostel was pricey and not exactly pretty. The beds were squished together (no bunks in my 8 person room) and you had to go through a 2 person room to get to it, which must not have been nice for the person who booked a 2 person room. There was no elevator and the bathrooms were a bit dirtier than most of the hostels I have stayed in, but not too unclean. That being said, it was nicely located near the train station, had free linens and locks, and was about as nice as the other Oslo hostels. Megan, from USA ~ 24th Apr 2012

Sentrum Pensjonat works in an old building in the Centre of Oslo. The location is great and the staff very helpful. However, there are many people permanently living there. This is not really a place you are bound to meet other travellers. I got the feeling that most people staying there are asylum-seekers or recent immigrants, including children and elderly people. i have a lot of experiences and excepting the HI of Lyon, Sentrum Pensjonat is the worst hostel I have been to: bad smell everywhere, dirty bedrooms, showers OK but dirty as well, kitchen very smelly. This hostel is really really close to Oslo S. Unfortunately a few Oslo citizens know where it is so you have to bring the map to there. There is no elevator like many hostels and there is a public kitchen in 2nd floor. There are many kinds of cooker so you can cook your meal. The hostel seems old but it's good comparatively.
