Best place I have ever stayed at - extremely great value for money, super helpful staff who are proficient in English, and although it is located away from the direct centre of Shanghai, it is still on a metro-line so transportation is super convenient. 5 out of 5, hands down. For my purpose, the location was ideal and the staff very friendly and accommodating. Although the lobby was lively, the noise always died down by 11pm. My biggest complaint is the late night smell of cigarette smoke and foul sewer odor coming from the drain in the bathroom. The mildew smell was so disgusting in my first room, I asked to be moved. Staff are great, very helpful. Dorm room is clean even if a little small. Common showers are great, common toilets a little dodgy, both locks were broken, but other than that, no complaints. This place is a little out of the way, but still very near all the sights. It's only a few stops to the People's Square by subway.
