Southside Lodge in Singapore, Kanada

The hostel itself was good, clean and cofortable. Nice sized rooms with everything you need. On the other hand, the lady running the show was moody and never smiled. Very bossy and felt like we were living with a very strict mother. We had mugs in our room from coffee, and she yelled at us and left rude little signs all over the place telling us what to do. And then, she couldn't have kicked us out faster when we were leaving. other than that...enjoyable stay :)

After discussing your comment within our team, particularly with regards to your complaint towards our staff, we find it necessary to react. You have used some very strong words related to our reminders addressed to you and other guests you shared your room with about the dirty dishes you repeatedly kept in there. Please note that it is our responsibility to make sure that complete kitchen equipment is available to our customers any time they decide to cook as this is shared by everyone. This was also explained to you on your check in and you agreed to it. We do our best to accommodate any special requests our customers might have in a personalized manner and we are happy to go the “extra mile” whenever possible. Just to remind you: • One of our staff let you stay an extra hour in the common kitchen to work on your Resume etc. although our kitchen hours are until 10PM only. This team member was happy to do this for you although it meant for him waiting on you till 11PM outside of his work hours. • The very same person you complained about in our comment lent you her private sewing set and an umbrella instead of telling you to purchase your own in the shop across the road as well as arranging to get your bike-breaks fixed for free. • All of these requests were handled promptly and with a smile. • You and your friends also decided to ignore our regular check out time (10AM) and simply stayed until 2PM, without arranging this with our staff in advance. During this time you were using our telephone , internet, kitchen facilities and we did not charge you extra for anything although you were showing a strong attitude when we asked you to finally check out with such delay. In conclusion, we hope that your time in Whistler will be enjoyable and we wish you all the best with everything. Warm Regards, Southside Lodge Team
