I booked this 'hostel' because on hostelworld.com it is listed as having a swimming pool. it does not, yet charges for it. I made several complains to the staff, and received no appologies or discounts. For the price there are many better hotels and hostels in the area. i asked for the air conditioning remote several times, or asked for it to be turned on for us, but no one would. i would not classify this as a hostel, it is a low class hotel. i would not recommend this place to anyone Sarah, from Australia ~ 14th May 2012

It is rather a hotel than a hostel. When we arrived, they were overbooked, even though we had a booking already confirmed. Finally we got a small, quite dark room in the "naz wooden house inn", which is run by the same owner. In the night we heard our neighbours and the staff shouting, the rooms on the backside were next to the railways. The arrangements with the staff were not reliable - in the end the manager was not available for our concerns. Conclusion: okay, but no recommendation from u Bernhard, from Germany ~ 5th Apr 2012

I had a very good experience in this hostel... the room was clean, safe, comfortable and it has a good location. The staff was friendly and gave me tips for the trip. It included a delicious breakfast in a place with a great view of the city. I strongly recommend it, the price was cheap and it was worth it. Mayra, from Mexico ~ 5th Apr 2012

A due passi dalle maggiori attrazioni, stanze piccoline ma confortevoli, colazione che lascia un pochino a desiderare, staff disponobile e sorridente!!!!! Nel complesso ottima scelta!!!!! Francesca, from Italy ~ 28th Mar 2012

Not only was the location perfect - a stone's throw from the Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, and many of Istanbul's must-see's - but the staff and accommodations made our stay even better. The employees at the front desk were always smiling and helpful, our room for three was clean and cozy, and breakfast, cooked every morning, was amazing. Definitely within budget - 3 nights, airport shuttle, dervish show all well within range. Nicole, from USA ~ 31st Jan 2012

This hostel -it's really more a proper hotel- was great. Rooms were not that big, but very good and clean. Bathroom was excellent too, providing all things that hotels do but hostels sometimes don't, like soap, shampoo, lots of towels, hair dryer, etc. Breakfast was fine, and it was very nice to have a coffe and a cake in the afternoon, offered for free. A special mention for the extraordinary staff. Extremely kind, willing to satisfy any requirement, and always receiving you with a smile. Jose, from Chile ~ 17th Jan 2012

Small and expensive, but nice and centrally located in Sultanahmed. Generally seen: Thumbs up. Baldur, from Germany ~ 30th Aug 2011

Once I looked under the bed, there was a bit of a layer of dust. The rest looked pretty cleaned. alice, from France ~ 2nd Sep 2011
