It's just awesome! Everyone are super-nice, the location is superb and their 5th floor bar is a very nice place to meet other visitors (and also be able to use Internet for free!). The arrange a lot of different events, and can also help with booking tickets and transportation to/from airport. Just excellent! (My only complaint is that in my bathroom the drain was clogged and the sink was leaking so my bathroom floor got a bit wet, but not a really big problem). Peter, from Sweden ~ 31st May 2012

The Phoenix is in a great location - it's two minutes from the (free) Shanghai Museum, ten minutes from the Bund, and located close to subway lines two and eight (if I remember correctly), the subway being the cheapest and easiest way to get into town from Pudong Airport. The hostel staff are extremely helpful and the rooms are clean. Hot water wasn't a problem. There's a rooftop bar run by two cool young Chinese. A really bad smell from the bathroom, no hot water from the shower at the first day. The double bed luxury room is too expensive for what it is. But the location is perfect and The chinese restaurant downstair was really Good! Éric, from France ~ 8th Dec 2011
