I really enjoyed my stay at De Talak! I made a lot of friends here, and tagged along on a few day trips. The staff was very helpful in helping me get to the places I wanted to go, and even wrote a note in Thai for me to show people along the way to make sure I was going in the right direction. The hostel is fairly close to the MRT station, about a 5 minute walk, and you do need to take the MRT/Skytrain to really get to anywhere touristy in the city. grace, from USA ~ 20th Apr 2013

!!!!!! Beware of evening arrivals. !!!!!! This place is a bit remote from the tourist areas. I arrived at (the pre-reserved) de Talak Hostel at 8:50pm to find the doors locked and unattended (even though I could see the sign throught the door that said front desk open till 8PM). I rang the after hours buzzer for 2 hours and no one responded.I ended up sleeping on the picnic table outside with the mosquitoes. What a wretched first day in Thailand, thanks to de Talak Hostel.
