We really enjoyed our stay. The place was small with only a few rooms so it really gave the feeling of being a guest in someone's home. The couple who run the minshuku were exceptionally kind and friendly. A suggestion for other travelers would be to take them up on the offer to be picked up at the station... walking is up a fairly steep hill (not bad on foot but a lot of work with luggage). I would definitely stay here again.

I had a wonderful stay. They picked me up from the train station. I felt very welcome. The dinners they cooked for me were some of the best I have had in my life. I tell people about those meals all the time. Taking a bath was a fantastic experience. The sites were wonderful. Yes, it was a bit of a long walk from the hostel to the sites but Nikko is so beautiful it didn\'t matter. Good to walk anyway. I did not want to leave when it came time for them to take me to the train station. If I get the chance to go back to Nikko, this will be the place to stay.
We absolutely loved this place. we arrived 4 hours late and were still given a ride form the station to the inn. i would definitely stay there again if i was in Nikko. staff was great, very nice, and helpful.

We already plan to return to this minshuku after our one day stay. The owner is very hospitable and the food is excellent.The rooms are very well arranged, very tranditional and lovely decorated. My children loved the character of the place and the owner. My son learned how to play GO here. The place was very comfortable and well exceeded our expectations.Our family recommends this minshuku. If you are looking for a great real Japanese experience, this is the place.
