we enjoyed the great atmosphere, only the smell from the sewage-water system in the room and the restaurant is sometimes hard to stand.

Staff was uber friendly and they'll accomodate you in any way they can. Great people in the city although the city itself is rather dusty when I went.

Being in Pingyao is like going through a time machine. And Yide is a great place! In fact, their courtyard is more charming than some of the sights in town. People were the friendliest, with English-speaking staff.
