i would definetly recommed it...montreal is awesome and old port is great place to stay...these hostel is just around the corner of everything!! the people is really nice and helpful.

The rooms to the street are very loud at night. no sleep at all. you cant close the windows because of the AC. Very annoying.

It was nice to be in Old Montreal, but the hostel was a bit dirty. It was also under construction it seemed and the shower downstairs was out of order. Overall, it wasn't to bad.

It seemed like it would be fun to stay in an old house, but you have to weigh that against your desire to sleep on an air mattress and look at unfinished construction. Should have been cleaner, but only the bathroom sink was bad. Decent amenities: linens, towels, complete kitchen, computer. The individual rooms didn't look too bad, and in the main dorm they provided a shanty-town of curtains for privacy, which is more than you'll get in many hostels.
