Castle Rock is where you need to stay in Edinburgh. It's a bit big, supporting quite a few people, but it's run by fellow travelers, and everyone knows how to have a good time. I stayed twice as long as I had originally planned because it was just that good.

I absolutely loved this quirky, original hostel. Fab location, feels like home, staff friendly, sofas soooo comfy, things going on you can opt in to if you want or just do your own thing... I will be back and recommending to friends :o)

staff is very nice, the location is very good, just next the castle! nothing bad to say about the hostel, but about the city: if you decide to rent a car, do it just before leaving the town, because parking is really really really expensive in Edinburgh!!
