Old Soviet style dorm is a dorm no matter how you spin it. But, I will stay there again, I take function over style... Good: location - 2min to subway, tram and 119 bus to/from airport (ticket on the bus). Only 2 subway stops to old parts. Huge building, probably always has rooms. WiFi (...the reception girl didn't know the password, asked to come back in the morning..) Bad: tasteless grey box building, unreliable toilet paper supply in bathrooms (hey, just carry your own - that's how we did back in good, old USSR), empty beer wending machine (there is a bar near the traffic circle, they will sell overpriced beer to go), torn shower curtains, paper thin tiny towels (have your own::). Conclusion: cheap, rudimental, convenient

On the level I stayed there was no functional kitchen, not even a kettle only a fridge. It was very noisy at times. One of the girls on reception didn't seem to even understand english!!!!

we mainly stayed here because of the amazing price - only 9 euros. i think these are the halls of residence for the uni students during term time. the room was quite big and really had everything you needed, and was clean. the toilets werent great but for the price you are paying... the staff were helpful. its also only a short journey on the metro (and the tickets are really cheap) to all the main stops and the area the hostel is in was actually quite nice and safe.
