The hostel is quite small and the kitchen and sitting areas might get cramped if the hostel was full, however the place is fantastically clean, well located and the staff are great. The private room even has a double bed :-)

We really had a great time at bar harbor hostel, we met great people and had a lot of fun... Thanks Erin...
The hostel had a warm and friendly atmosphere. Only two negatives come to mind: 1. the kitchen was too small for the number of guests (and the male section was never full while I was there); 2. There was no access to the hostel between 10 am and 5 pm - sometimes you just need a place to chill and this meant you were effectively locked out all day.
great hostel grat location wonderful staff it's turned out to be my favorite vacation place i know thre are physical limitations to the building, but a bigger kitchen and living/communal area is missed. however at youth hostels so much is the people so the other issues really take a back seat as did these, so thank you. stve bernstein
