A brand new guesthouse and youth hostel in Yunnan Shaxi, China - the last remaining ancient market town on the historical Tea & Horse Caravan Trail. Located in an authentic and traditional Bai Minority courtyard, our guesthouse is owned by experienced travelers and professional outdoor guides, created for adventurous travelers just like you. We have dorm rooms, standard double rooms, a family room, and a luxury loft-style suite for travelers of different styles and budgets. Shaxi is located roughly half way between the cities of Dali and Lijiang in Yunnan, China. To get to Shaxi from either Dali or Lijiang, go to the long distance bus station in either city and take a bus to Jianchuan, which is a 2.5-3 hour bus journey from Lijiang, or a 3-3.5 hour bus journey from Dali. Once in Jianchuan, step outside of Jianchuan bus station and take a local van-style bus to Shaxi (45-60 mins).

Horse Pen 46 Guesthouse is conveniently located in the center of Shaxi at the ancient town square, right across from the historical landmark Xingjiao Temple, between the old theater stage and the famous Allen's Cafe.
