Historic Grade II listed Inn, the oldest in Dover, nestling in the shadow of Dover Castle behind the beach and just a short stroll from the Ferry port for boats to France and Europe.
Freshly converted into Dover Backpackers with a mix of en suite family rooms and youth hostel style bunks.
A great place to wait for the ferry to France and as a result of being the 'last bar in Britain,' we have had the coolest of guests; 3 of the Beatles, all of the Rolling Stones, Sir Cliff Richard and actor Hugh Grant.

We organise little trips to the surrounding picturesque villages of Deal and Sandwich, (where Earl Sandwich invented the snack), taking in Tudor c15th cottages and the wild horses which live on the top of the White Cliffs.

Filthy and dirty rooms, the "kitchen" is a kettle in the hallway and a dirty fridge in an even more dirty storeroom. Very grumpy and unfriendly staff. Since it is above a rundown pub it is very loud. I definatly would noone ever recommend to ever go there! Moritz, from Germany ~ 2nd Apr 2013

We didn't have a good time here. The owner had bad luck, when te previous residents damaged the heating. So our reserved room was cold and had waterdamage. We received a replacementroom, at thenunfinished and with cardboard covered floors attick, with a deserved discount. By the way: no water on our floor, no hot water on any other floor, ( because f the heating) We didn't go for breakfast because we were worried for the lack of cleanlines.
