We are a traditional and licensed hostel with the best location at the stylish end of Hay Street in Perth.
Reception hours are from 08:30am until midnight.
We offer you quality service with comfortable and affordable accommodation.
A warm welcome awaits you at '1201 East Backpackers'. Our guests instantly take to the unique atmosphere and cosy surroundings, even the shyest newcomer to backpacking soon feels at home and becomes part of the 1201 family.
We offer clean, spacious dorms and bedrooms where our guests have enough space for themselves and their kit. A great selection of different bedding configuration for every taste and budget is available as well as a comfortable bed for that good sleep, regardless of the time of day.
You can cook that special meal or just a sandwich in our well-equipped kitchen, each of our guests gets their personal plates, cups and cutlery so no one has to share. The dining room is large enough for a banquet of fifteen and small enough for that intimate dinner for two.
The Cave, located in the basement, is the social hub of the hostel where everyone knows your name. Guests chat, play pool, table soccer or darts, drink, dance or just meet and make life long friends.
There are two supermarkets, a post office, two bottle shops, many hotels and bars, night clubs and many restaurants all nearby. The Swan River, the Western Australian cricket grounds are also just seconds away from our front door.
When you eventually leave Perth your fondest memories of this town will include the fun, friends and the great times you had at 1201 East Backpackers.
Our hostel consists of 4, 6, 8 and 10-bed (male, female and mixed sex) dorms as well as doubles, triples, twins, and singles. All beds have linen, blankets and pillows and all rooms have fans.

For the budget conscious we also provide free tea and coffee, free in house videos and book loan library, free use of our pool table, free use of BBQ and more.

the hostel only open from 830am till 11pm. other than that the door will be close. my room just behind the counter, the shower room for male only got two and one toilet. every afternoon can get gas leakage smell. can get CAT bus opposite the hotel and few restaurants around it. hock eng, from Malaysia ~ 13th Dec 2012
