Rio Hostel in Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia

It was an unfortunate choice.The morning we arrived there were drunken people everywhere, the neighbourhood and the rooms smelled (There's a cat) .The girls at the reception were not very helpful when asked about clubs to go or money exchange parlours didn't not provide useful information. After paying for a four day stay I was robbed at knife point on the street Mgr had recommended I take. Make what you want of that and as I did not utilise the room which was later relet the Rio Hostel refused to refund any money declaring my Insurance would cover it.Insurance doesnt cover accommodation loss. I left RIO with 100R, just enough for a taxi to the Police Station and then onto the Airport. The Hostel is in local theft area and lacks in honesty and integrity.
