YHA Wanaka Purple Cow is a relaxed welcoming backpackers hostel, situated in the stunning alpine village of Lake Wanaka. Our central Wanaka location offers uninterrupted views of Lake Wanaka and the famed Southern Alps, with a range of warm and comfortable accommodation and great communal facilities.
We have a FREE Pool Table and SKY TV for those lazy days, allowing you to enjoy all the movies and sport you could want.
Why not curl up by the fire in winter enjoying the amazing view over lake Wanaka or grab some grub and enjoy one of our two great BBQ areas during the summer months.
You can book travel activities through the Hostel travel desk including - skydiving, kayaking, rock climbing, mountaineering, horse trekking, fishing and Puzzling World. New Zealand's best ski fields and Mt Aspiring National Park are only 40 minutes drive away.
YHA New Zealand is a non-profit membership organisation. Non-members pay an additional NZ $3 per person per night fee upon check-in. Memberships can be purchased online or at the hostel.
