Montreal is served by one airport: Trudeau Airport (former name: Dorval International), about 22km (14 miles) west of downtown. It serves most domestic, U.S., charters and overseas flights.
By Taxi
The current rate is about $38 to Trudeau Airport. Prices are explicitly posted inside all taxicabs.
By Shuttle: 747 Express bus:
The 747 shuttle is providing a 24-hour-a-day, 365-days-a-year bus service between Montral's central bus terminal (Berri-UQAM metro station) and Montral-Trudeau airport. There is a stop few steps away from the hostel at the corner of Guy and Ren-Lvesque (coming from the airport) and at the corner of Bishop and Ren-Lvesque (going to to the airport).
Buses on the 747 route are equipped with three luggage racks for the convenience of travellers. The $7 fare is payable in cash aboard the bus.
From the bus terminal:
Take the subway (direction Cte-Vertu) and get off at Lucien-L'Allier station. Go right on Lucien-L'Allier St. to Overdale Ave. (1 block) and turn left to the hostel.
From the train station:
Take the subway (direction Cte-Vertu), get off at Lucien L'Allier station and follow the above directions to the hostel.
From New York State:
Take Interstate 87 North to the border: 87 will become Hwy 15 north. Take the 15 North to Champlain Bridge. Across the bridge, take Hwy 10 West (Bonaventure Hwy) and follow the signs for Downtown. Hwy 10 west becomes University street. Go straight ahead on University to Maisonneuve Blvd. turn left on Shervrooke street and when you get to Mackay Street, make a left; we're located at the end of Mackay.
From Vermont or Massachusetts:
Take Interstate 89 North to the border: the 89 will become Hwy 133 North and then Hwy 35 North. At the junction of Hwy 10, take the 10 West to Champlain bridge. Across the bridge, keep Hwy 10 West(Bonaventure Hwy) and follow the signs for Downtown. Hwy 10 west becomes University street. Go straight ahead on University to Maisonneuve Blvd. turn left on Shervrooke street and when you get to Mackay Street, make a left; we are located at the end of Mackay.
From Ontario and other points west:
Take the Hwy 401 East to the Ontario/Quebec border. The 401 will become the 20 East. Keep going until you reach the Junction of Hwy 720 East. Take the 720 East to exit #3 (Guy Street). Turn right on Ren-Levesque and after 3 blocks turn right on Mackay Street. We're located at the end of Mackay Street.
From Ottawa, Hull or Wakefield:
Take the Hwy 417 East to the Ontario/Quebec border. The 417 will become the 40 East. Keep going until you reach the Junction of Hwy 13 South. Take the 13 South to the junction of Hwy 20 East. Follow the 20 East to the junction of the 720 East. Take the 720 East to exit #3
(Guy Street). Turn right on Ren-Levesque and after 3 blocks turn right on Mackay Street. We are located at the end of Mackay Street.
