Stayed here for a few days over Queen's day. Location is great, 10 minutes to museums and Heineken, 20 minutes to Central Station. Otherwise, it was the most expensive hostel I have ever stayed in and the worst. Bathrooms were a mess, rooms very small, staff not very friendly. Free breakfast is just a toast with a few spreads. Easiest and cheapest way to get here from Schiphol is to take bus 350 or 197 from the airport and get off at Leidseplein. The good things about this place: Located in Leidseplein which has lots of food, drinks, smoke shops and general merriment without the kinda creepy vibe of the red light. Its also dirt cheap and when I came stumbling in at 3 am everyone was asleep. Sweet. Bad things: The notorious bathrooms. Not gonna lie, it was pretty icky in there. Plus everything got wet when you showered so it was difficult to not let the three guys in the room see me butt naked. Breakfast was toast, jam, butter and juic Michelle, from USA ~ 9th Apr 2009
