This place is a rare gem... we felt like we were at home. Cozy fireplace, great movie collection, beautiful setting, gracious host!!! Nothing was missing. We will return every time we come to the Netherlands. It was our favorite lodging! Nellyda, from USA ~ 9th Oct 2009

Nice atmosphere. Fun staff. Really cool farm. Buses run from around 8 am to 6 pm from the train station (8 km from the hostel) Joye, from USA ~ 21st Sep 2009

Good clean sheets, nice and peaceful. The staff were absolutely excellent and really helpful and friendly. Bikes available to rent, so when you have made it to the hostel you don\'t need to navigate the bus again. The bus is only hourly and the last bus is at 18.20. The animals are nice, and the atmosphere is really chilled. DVD\'s available to watch and the kitchen is free for use. 1Euro beer and free tea and coffee. Really nice place; it\'s very cosy so if you don\'t like the other Oliver, from England ~ 15th Aug 2009

We loved animal house. A fantastic place to relax and recharge the batteries after a long weekend in Amsterdam, and traveling in general. 2 nights turned into 5 and could have been longer. Daniel, from New Zealand ~ 15th Aug 2009

name of the hostel is Animal Farm name of the town is Alem not Afalst
The actual township is called Afalst! So thats the real name for our place!!!

animal farm is the most chilling spot! we went there at the end of a 2 month trip and it was perfect for what we were looking for.. a nice few days relaxing doing nothing. Very helpful people, all the tea and coffee you can drink, biking through the towns is very beautiful! cheap bikes, cheap beer this place was great! Derek, from Canada ~ 24th Jun 2009
