As Oslo is such an expensive city, having a kitchen in the room and utensils available (just leave a deposit) was immensely helpful. My room was large for a six bed dorm. There were people often hanging out in the reception area though I never really had time to talk - seemed like you could meet people if you gave it a go.

If you're looking for a place to stay where you get to befriend people from all over the globe, this is it. The bed was especially comfortable and the room quite spacious, but the bathroom floor could have used a little more attention. Everything else was A-OK!

Oslo is a very expensive city, but there are several great attraction (Akershus fortress, King's Palace, Vigeland Park stb.)!The Anker Hostel's location is not the best, but the traffic conditons are good! The security and cleanliness were OK!Fun, character? There is a bar, but the hostel is a little bit "sad". Unfortunately, the staff aren't friendly: the check-in a little bit difficult, and if you go earlier you must wait until 3 p.m. (this is the check-in time). This is very "comfortable" with

Paying for bed linen was surprising. Nothing provided in a kitchen- even basic things like fork or a mug- I could 'rent' them paying the deposit for 3 hours...Never met such a thing in any hostel I stayed in

It was possible to lend dishes, but they were very dirty. The bedlinen, for which we had to pay, were also dirty.

We stayed in a 6 bed mixed ensuite. So it had a toilet and shower. It also had a kitchenette and small fridge, so you can cook in the room. Sheets were 50 krone, but you can bring your own. If you pay by credit card, you don't need to leave the 200 krone deposit for the key, they'll charge your credit card if you don't return it. Very clean place and well-kept. You cannot eat your own food in the reception area, you can only eat if you buy from them.
