The hostel is nearer from Interlaken West than from Interlaken East, so better travel by bus from station or walk for 10 mins. The atmosphere at the hostels was young and lively. The staff were helpful to plan our trips. Eating joints were nearby, we enjoyed the thai corner next to the hostels, very much. The rooms mentioned as private are surrounded by wooden walls, OK for the cost it was for. We could hear if the person in the next door spoke. The stay at Balmer's was nothing short of amazing. The location is PERFECT. We stayed in the Tent Village down the road a few hundred yards and it was an awesome experience. The staff was always ready to help and answer any questions you had. They also have a partnership with Outdoor Interlaken, the activities agency so you can conveniently book all your outdoor activities at the hostel. We went on the 8 hour canyoning trip and had an amazing time. Don't even consider staying anywhere else in In Andrew, from USA ~ 3rd Sep 2009

Great hostel, very organized, clean, lots of bathrooms. Wasn't as big of a party-hostel, but that was probably for the better (ie, we could actually sleep at night without a problem). Real chill place. Meet many ppl. The best club / bar is literaly in balmers. If u don't get a private room it could be annoying to have to brin ur bag down. Would def stay again. Way more ppl in balmers then funny farm. Friendly ppl Eli, from USA ~ 18th Aug 2009
