the guys who owns this place is a legend, but there is never any toilet paper in the girls bathroom, the showers were gross, and the dance studio across meant there was always noise, making it very hard to sleep. but its a fun hostel, and the people who work there are lovely. also the kitchen is really tiny, and no more than one person can be in there at a time. chloe, from Australia ~ 29th Oct 2009

Great hostel, awesome location, and the best value for money in Budapest. If you travel to Budapest make sure you stay here. Also the staff (especially Alex) are the best! Belinda, from Australia ~ 22nd Oct 2009

Without a doubt one of the best hostels ive stayed in if not the best...location is nearly in the city center, staff was really great (greetings to alex!), the room very clean and bathrooms were okay as well...all that in combination with cheap czech beer in their bar and you wont want to get back home...nice nice nice Jan, from Czech Republic ~ 4th Oct 2009

I know all the reviews say this hostel is amazing, thats why i stayed there, but it is not so great. The bathrooms are gross! The showers do not drain and the curtain is stained brown. I didnt really feel safe. You need to lock your door from the inside but with 15 people in a room...it never stays locked. Plus when we walked up, there were pictures of men who have been hanging around the hostel and we were told to watch out for them. There is so much character on the outside of the buildi Kristina, from USA ~ 24th Sep 2009

Free coffee and tea! Also free use of the kitchen- which was small but had everything you might need. They provided free padlocks for really spacious lockers and safe box for passport. Within 5 to 10 minute walk to the metro. So everything was great- BUT I did find a bug crawling on me my first night there... Now it could have been a one time thing, but I felt a little itchy after that sleeping in the bed. Simone, from USA ~ 11th Sep 2009

This hostel is run beautifully. The owner is a great person and makes everyone feel genuinely welcome. Not only did I feel safe but I felt welcome and enchanted by the atmosphere. Casa de la musica is a great place to be no matter what the occasion. While in Budapest, it is the only place to lay your head and rest your feet. I highly reccomend. william, from USA ~ 2nd Sep 2009
