the beds are clean,but you have to share you room with bugs...the sink in the bathroom was not working...i don´t know if in this house are private rooms,coz the whole night was loud music and cats everywhere...we stayes just one night,but i wouldn´t stay longer! Antje, from Germany ~ 22nd Dec 2009

This was the crappiest host I've ever been. Me and my sister almost decided to spend the night elsewhere. The room was dirty, and smelling, we had to buy new sheets to put over our beds because our bed had hairs all over it. GROSS. And the surroundings of the hostel are petrifying, we had to run from the train stop to the hostel because we were afraid someone would rob us. Very good value for the international traveller on a budget. Secure, clean and very helpful friendly staff with excellent local knowledge. The area shows a side of New York that maybe wouldn't normally be seen - very artistic and culturally rich. Only slight problem - lots of stairs although staff were happy to help with luggage.
