City Central International Hostel dans Shanghai, China

Plus points- tour desk at lobby which offers great travel resources, free breakfast (limited variety though), free morning shuttle bus to major attractions (JingAn Temple/People's Square/YuYuan Garden), lift (esp if you have a heavy luggage), telephone in room (free for local calls); minus points- Don't be misled by its name as it is actually located in a residential area in Shanghai, not really close to city centre. This is a great place to stay. Good value for money and has all the necessary services a traveller needs. Whether it is a long stay or a short overnight stay i highly recommend this place. This was my second time staying at this hostel and it was just as great as the first time. The staff are really helpful and know lots of great places for you to see and the bar has some of the coldest beers I had in China for only 5RMB! Jason, from USA ~ 7th Oct 2009

this is an absolutely great hostel. it's very clean and the atmosphere is great. i dunno bout the dorms, but if you stay in one of the double rooms it resembles more a 3* hotel. they actually change your towels every day!!!! the location is good, not in the center, but near a subway and near enough to make it worth taking a cab, plus they have a shuttle bus to drive you to the center every morning Frederico, from Germany ~ 18th Sep 2009

Don't be put off by outside appearance.This was probably the best hostel we stayed in China. Rooms were really clean and comfortable, BIG and had everything you needed.Really appreciated the FREE breakfast!More hotel standard than hostel.Staff very helpful and location fairly central - about 10min walk to Metro station.Very quiet - may not be the place to go if you're looking to meet other travellers and party all night!
