Costa Rica Backpackers dans San Jose, Costa Rica

Great hostel, like a little Oasis. Only complaint is that a VERY VERY loud train runs right behind the hostel every hour or so. Every morning at 6:30am I´m woken up by the LOUDEST train I´ve ever heard, blaring it´s horn. Okay, but other than that the place rocks. It was really loud and difficult to sleep. There was constantly trains going by and people honking their horns. The location was a little scary and the neighborhood wasn't very friendly.

Train pass 4 times a day.... The hostel is located in the safest hood in San Jose (100mts from police headquarter and 2 minutes walk from many bars), so don t go in San jose downtown, it is much worst...

This was one of the nicest and funnest hostels we've ever been to: great bar, good restaurant, fun social atmosphere, helpful staff, and convenient location. Everything's within walking distance-museums, atm, supermarket, etc. We were disappointed that the wifi didn't work in our room, but it was fine in the lobby area. Sri at the travel desk is really knowledgeable and helpful when booking tours. We'll definitely come back again if we're back in San Jose. Annie, from USA ~ 15th Jun 2009

The facility was nice enough, although I was not a fan of the clientele the night we stayed there. We went to bed at midnight, but I was kept up by random conversation and other strange noises for a long time. The bathroom was also a bit sketchy and unclean, I didn't feel comfortable showering there. A high point was the restaurant in the hostel. Nice staff and pretty good food at all hours, which was nice when we got in at 9:30 PM and had to leave at 6:30 AM. Paul, from USA ~ 28th Mar 2009

Great place. This was my first time in Costa Rica and this hostel was a great place to be at for two nights. Bar and cafe open until 2 a.m. was great. Very fun but also relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone. John, from USA ~ 3rd Mar 2009
