Dakota is in an excellent location, very safe and central to everything. My sister and I (both in our 40s) stayed here 2 nights. The room had tons of windows and fresh air. We enjoyed just watching the city life below! The breakfast was free, and not great, but if you are on a tight budget. it is fine. The hotel itself was extremely quiet, but the city life outside can get a bit noisy, so bring ear plugs for sleeping. Would highly recommend without hesitation. claire, from USA ~ 27th Oct 2009

The best place for the money that I know of. I book at Dakota, but was transfer to Adelaide which is the sister hostel right across the street @ Taylor. Adelaide is a bit noisyer @ late night weekend, but convenience & also clean in bathroom, toilet, bed & sheet. There are 7 internet comp @ Adelaide, 2 @ Dakota, but wireless are available @ both places. Staff are fine, helpful & professional. When U travel to stay @ a hostel, basically U want a clean place to stay & friendly staff, both places h Xuong, from China ~ 13th Oct 2009

located a few meters from Union Square, washing and kitchen facilities and commom room are in the Adelaide Hostel 50m down the road, breakfast is very basic ( only sweet), excellent dinner for 5$, very friendly and helpful staff. would stay here again Sebastian, from Germany ~ 24th Aug 2009

this place was really lacking a fun vibe. has potential with the adelaide common room- yet most of the people were using it to watch tv and read books- didn't feel comfortable to drink or hang out.. staff were a little held back also, would look for something a little more fun!! The Dakota Hostel was just a great place to stay and we had the full use of the Adelaide Hostel Building across the street I think this is the place to stay with quiet rooms and TV and bathroom and go across the street to to enjoy the party at the Adelaide Hostel but comr back here to sleep.
