I have stayed at this hostel before without aproblem but last time I had to leave at 5.00am to get to the airport. I asked two separate staff members if it would be alright to check out that early and they said "yes", but in the morning the "inside" door to reception was locked.I had to go out the back door and down the alley and round to the front of the building with my case. The front door was also locked.Fortunately a night watchman saw me and eventually let me in to check out! Directly located at the West lake its a good place to start your way into Hangzhou. You can rent a bike as we did or walk around the lake whats quite nice at the day time or evening Peter, from Germany ~ 10th Oct 2011

We enjoyed a couple of days in this really nice&cozy hostel! The location is perfect (next to the west lake, restaurants and a bike rental) and there are both nice inside and outside sitting areas, a spacious guest kitchen, free wifi and everything one needs to feel at home! The 4 bed dorms are spacious and we would stay here again Lisa, from Germany ~ 4th Sep 2011

Excellent location right next to the west lake (on the east side so it's the perfect spot to watch the sunset over the mountains) and the mingtown cafe right next to it is awesome. The only thing is that the bathroom and shower facilities are a bit old and maintenance seems minimal.

This place has updated their look and is much cleaner than before. The key cards also appear to be new and work.Great location.Within walking distance of food and transportation and the lake is a stones throw away. Matthew, from USA ~ 9th Jun 2011

The arrangement made by the hostel staff for the purchased of tickets for a show held at the West Lake for my son and I was misleading & confusing. It took us a while to get them from the designated West Lake ticket counter, as instructed by the hostel staff. We had to go back and forth explaining ourselves to be given the paid tickets. It was us practically begging for them which was uncalled for. Elizabeth, from USA ~ 14th May 2011
