I enjoyed staying this hostel and Hangzhou city. The room was clean and staff were supportive. The only thing made me uncomfortable was the heating. As I know, this area of China does not support heating system. So, it may be not the problem of this hostel. Anyway, the room we stayed was really cold. Inhak, from South Korea ~ 6th Feb 2012

Hangzhou West Lake Youth House was a fine experience. The staff was very nice and helpful. Wireless internet didn't work properly. Location was five minutes away from the lake, and ten minutes away from downtown in taxi. Good place all in all and especially value for money! Anna, from Denmark ~ 2nd Jan 2012

It's not so difficult to find the way there if you are clever enough, and it's quite close to some sight-seeing points of west lake. i love the skylight very much although there were not many star in the sky that night. Siu Wah, from Hong Kong ~ 28th Dec 2011

The staff and location are really great. The rooms are worn and in need of decorating and repairs.The bedding is clean and the showers lovely and hot. The first room we had upstairs has a real sewage leak under the floor somewhere and smells terrible. Food served until 10pm They do not accept any cards and the website told us it had not accepted our card, but had.the staff sorted our booking out on the telephone, they are really good!! The hostel is in a very good location for visiting the West Lake. It is clean, comfortable and has a nice menu with a good range of dishes. There are a few books and magazines in various languages and the staff are friendly and generally very helpful. However, clearer directions to the hostel would be appreicated. It is also important to note that no bus seems to go to the train station. The Y2 stops running at 6 and is very infrequent. Taxis are rare and impossible to find between 4-6pm. All the staffs are very helpful and their knowledges are good enough to give us advices where to visit and where to take our meal. just only one thing is HangZhou hard to find a restaurant for dining especially staying nearby "XiHu", we need to travel by bus to take our breakfasts, lunch and dinner. Good hostel very nicely located at West Lake. The rooms are clean and bright and the common area is cosy. They rent out bikes and were very helpful in giving us recommendations.
