My friends and I are studying in Madrid, but of course we had to make a trip to Amsterdam. Loved this hostel... right in the middle of the Red Light District next to all that good stuff, but not sketch at all. Met some pretty tight kids too. So you've decided to stay in a brothel... now what? you'll have more fun uptown, its worth the walk to get away from this place... unless you're here for the drugs n hookers in which case this place is PERFECT! plenty of annoying drug dealers chillin outside the hostel, you wont feel safe walking home from the bar. Great location and staff, but not the best security. It is in the MIDDLE of the red light district, so what can you expect. I heard one of the staff members say to another guy asking how safe it is and he said "uh, its safe enough." Dont expect to get much sleep, but nice rooms Brian, from USA ~ 21st Jul 2009

cons: Condition of the showers where terrible. (drains completely clogged. it was a swamp after only a few showers every morning) Front desk people are grumpy and give you mean looks if you hang out in the lobby. ONE KEY FOR EACH ROOM plus: Rooms where pretty nice. lockers with locks. Good condition besides bathroom. IN RED LIGHT DISTRICT. +/- depending on who you are. The spot was key, though it encouraged us to spend copious amounts of money on over priced commodities. It was hot while we stayed there, and the rooms were not well ventilated. The operations staff was great and Amsterdam is a blast. I would revisit this hostel in cooler weather, and it would be great to have more space to socialize. Jeremiah, from USA ~ 16th Aug 2009

Great friendly staff, good breakfast, my room was right by the street so it was noisy at times and it was slightly exspensive to stay there, but then you get that when you are staying in a hotspot in amsterdam! I would recommend this place to anyone. Michelle, from New Zealand ~ 9th Jun 2009
