This hostel is in a great location, right by Puerta del Sol. The rooms were spacious and clean, although the hostel seemed deserted the entire time we were there. The staff is not overly friendly, although we didn't encounter any issues when staying there. If you are looking for a quiet, cheap stay, this is a safe bet!

Great location, nice bathrooms, and the showers had good water pressure. I didn't see much of the staff but the ones I spoke to were friendly.

Nice location, very grumpy staff. They made us feel like an imposition on them, rather than like guests. We were glad to leave. There are plenty of other places to stay in Madrid.

The older man was so sweet, but the woman was so rude to my friend and i. She would not split the cost between the both of us and snapped at us numerous times. Overall the place was very nice though. And very clean.

We were really only in Madrid for two days and as we took an over night bus, we were at Hostal Aguilar only one night. But, we thought it was very pleasant. The location was amazing, really close to everything! And the staff was also very nice. We really weren't looking for a fun place to meet people, but as college students we really just wanted a decent place to stay at a good price where we didn't need to lug our own linens so for our purposes it was perfect.
