I stayed only one night at this hostel due to a short trip up to Montreal. The hostel is definitely a different set up then the 7 other hostels I have stayed in during my travels through Europe. The hostel has 3 different levels with 2 of the levels having several areas of beds out in the open space. They have a bathroom for each level to be shared and kitchen on 2 out 3 levels. Overall it was a good experience since the owner put me in a private room for the same price when my reservation for Johana, from USA ~ 6th Oct 2009

This was a very relaxed hostel, great patios and nice common space. The only thing is that there were only 2 bathrooms for 40+ people! The staff was very nice and helpful and the people were great. Also, the neighborhood is perfect. Teresa, from USA ~ 28th Jul 2009

Wonderfully surprised. We stayed in our very own apartment. No language barrier whatsoever. Nice authentic experience. Exceptional experience for exceptional value. Would recommend to all, apart from posh bastards. Maxx, from Canada ~ 20th Jul 2009

Great place with great character. Most of the staff did not speak very much English but it wasn't a huge barrier by any means and in my experience it added to the vacation. Aaron, from USA ~ 6th Jul 2009

It was an excellent place to stay, location was very nice as it is only a few blocks fromParc Mont Royale. However, they only spoke french at the place and I feel that if you are in the hospitality business you should be able to communicate in other languages. Steven, from Mexico ~ 26th Jun 2009

Use of coloured paints helped the delapodated walls and doors look artful. However, nothing could sugar coat the cold, must, and damp that permeated even the matress. Oh, and the holes in the floor. The only upside was the location. Emma, from Canada ~ 9th Apr 2009

Very nice, typical youth hostel with friendly atmosphere!Breakfast all you can eat when you want.Nice private bedroom,2kitchens,near pubs and restaurants, perfect to go out! Sandrine, from France ~ 6th Apr 2009

The only reason I don't rate the staff higher than medium is because not a single one of them spoke English. I know the hostel is in a Francophone city in a Francophone province, but I was shocked that no one even knew words like "pay", "tonight", "twenty". However, even though they didn't speak English, they were nonetheless very cheerful, and were trying their best to communicate. The staff was very nice. Also the door in the 2 person "private" room doesn't actually shut, making it not josh, from USA ~ 20th Mar 2009
