Stayed in a three bed ensuite at the Globe over NYE, the room was extremely clean and a decent size. It'sright in the heart of where you want to be and close to central station. The other facilities including the bar, smoking/games/chillout room and public bathrooms were also great even at such a busy time. As for the staff, they were extremely nice and helpful, being three girls their advice was great and Yu is amazing!! No 'socially retarded' people allowed at the globe lol. Very close to both Amsterdam Centraal and even closer to redlight. Very much fun to catch at the reservation, which is mixed up with a bar. People watching soccer and drinking beer. We were stolen during the night in their lockers and the hostel did nothing at all for our lost, no compensation...nothing. They barely looked at the cameras Otherwise if you don't get stolen this hostel is very clean and at an extremely good location. For what you are paying it is good value. I have heard a lot gets stolen, but I always put all my valuables to reception and that was fine. All in all, a value for money place. Location is very good, next to Dam Square and Red Light District. Rooms had poor ventilation though. However, en-suite clean washroom facilities made up for the other deficiencies. Rooms could have been slightly bigger. The corridors need to be done up. Right now very old.
