Hostelling International New York dans Newcastle, Etats Unis

I got bed bugs in room 412.Management acted like I was crazy when I pointed it out.Customer service left something to be desired.And also I would say beware of the bathroom renovations.Some bathrooms are in really terrible condition.

I would like to suggest followings: 1. In the room for 12 people there were only two electrical outlets. Which were clarly not sufficient, especially these times when everybody uses cell phone and other elctronic gadget which needs charging. So i recommend to provide extension boards with multiple electrical outlets. 2. I dont know what but the smell in the corridor was very pungent. SO some air freshening is required. 3. Room was not adequately hot for the New york winter.

Great location, great new bathrooms and kitchen, very clean and secure, but so big that you don't really meet people. Great if you're travelling with a friend, a bit too boring if you're travelling alone. For the money, one of the best deals in NYC.

Located in Upper-West Manhattan, just one block on foot to the bus station and metro HI-NY is fairly good to stay in. Staff is amiable, kitchen is fully-equipped and so are restrooms. The only Achilles' heel here is cleanliness. I was staying in a 10-male dorms and I saw a mouse under my bed, plus once I was eating late at night when the housekeeping cleaned up the kitchen and garbage with the same gloves he later organized clean plates. 3/10
