Staff make an effort to make you feel welcome. There is no lock on the front door, nor on the dorm door. Even if there are "people around", it doesn't matter - anyone could walk in off the street. Security is poor. That being said, it's a safe area, could walk around at night on my own OK. Streetcar to downtown is handy. Veggie meals for $5 also very handy. One more gripe: what's with all the resident losers? There should be a max stay of two weeks. Too many drunk wannabe hippies hanging around. Peter, from England ~ 17th Nov 2009

This is outright an awesome hostel! We were only booked for three days but we had no problems with extending our stay (might be due to the season). The staff hangs around the place and are really friendly and helpful. They also arrange events. they had a Patrick Swayze wake a rice and curry night and a breakfast morning during our stay, all at a price but really cheap! The hostel itself is a couple os houses with a shared courtyard there is also a pool, free WiFi, TV, fridge, lockers in the dorm Lauge, from Denmark ~ 21st Sep 2009
