A pretty good hostel. The only thing about it is that noise travels far. I think its more on the building than on the owners, however. So, if you are sensitive to noise, be aware. Also, people smoke like chimney's there. And they do it right in front of doors and open windows, and then it can drift into your room. As an ex-smoker who chokes on stale cigarette smoke, I found it pretty tough at times. Free internet is good. The location cannot be beat, though. Really at a great location. Just a couple of notes: no Internet in the dorms no dishware and utencils except for plastic bathroom stalls are not for claustrophobic showers turn off every 30 seconds The good: if you like bad rock music, it's playing on the TV's all the time social time is important here as the lobby dubs as a Internet hub elevator, large rooms and central location Guntars, from Latvia ~ 24th Jan 2012

Lack of community room and noisy ambient. Good bathrooms and rooms, good key system and great localization. MATHEUS, from Brazil ~ 8th Jan 2012

Horrible if you want a good night's sleep. Calle de Huertas is party central in Madrid, which is good if you plan on staying up till the wee hours, but really sucks if you plan to get up relatively early due to the poor insulation, despite the double-paned windows. Worse still is the noise coming from your floor neighbors and from downstairs. Don't believe the "no noise allowed after 11." Cold showers. The staff is very friendly, though. The best thing is the location, you stay in the center of Madrid everything is relatively close, I went on foot everywhere. The rooms are nice, the keys are fun because you can use them as watches. Bathrooms were clean as well. The only thing I didn't appreciate was the number of kids in the hostel and the fact that they were always making a lot of noise, running everywhere and occupying all time the kitchen and the living room where the PCs were located. I stayed just 1 night in November 2011, in a 4-Bed-Dorm, Bathroom is clean, Breakfast (Cornflakes, Milk, Juice, Apple, Toast and Jam) is ok for the stay, Location is great, Staff very friendly and helpful, - and don\'t worry about the key system, it looks harder than it is. Would recommend this hostel for everyone modest who looks for a cheap overnight stay. Jasmin, from Germany ~ 29th Nov 2011

Everything was up to standard and the security went above and beyond with locks on the front door, the room doors and even your own safe all opened with the same key. However, the day of my checkout I returned in the evening to meet a friend and the only staff member who didn't speak English screamed at me and threw me out. That is the only reason I have rated staff poorly. All other staff were very helpful. Kyle, from Canada ~ 23rd Nov 2011

I would definitely come back to this hostel! The staff is friendly, the rooms are pretty OK, beds have independent lamps and plug-ins, lockers have great space, plus they have several activities for the guests. The reception is nice and they give you a very useful map and information of the most important and touristic places you can visit! Really nice hostel, would (and will) recommend it! The ways the keys worked was really great. The location is impeccable. A little hard to meet people within the hostel itself, but definitely a place I'd return to! Rebecca, from USA ~ 9th Nov 2011
