looks like the recomondation from the "lonely planet" meets the requests of low budjet travellers who don't mind slumming it... furthermore, MAMA NAXI seemd to us as a witch who cares only about money.
Thank you for your stay at our guesthouse, even if it did not make you satisfied. We will humbly accept the guest's comments and recommendations. We really need to improve. But I personally hope that you sake of discussion, rather than personal attacks.

I think that everyone should experience Mama's! Its fun but not necessarily a stress-free experience! We were there at a busy time and everyone was trying to get the bus to tiger leaping gorge or to have breakfast. It was all fairly chaotic but in the end Mama came through! We really enjoyed the time here and would stay again. The evening food is great. And if you are lucky and Mama has time she gives you a goodluck charm and a hug when you leave! I went to Mama Naxis because of the rave reviews of the staff and particularly of Mama. I found the staff most inattentive, they were solely concerned with watching the soap operas on tv or flirting with the foreign guys staying there. I spent the better part of the morning trying to get the woman's attention to take my passport and register me (she would begin to take my passport and then a guy would come in and she would run off to chat with him. If you want to go to sleep before midnight, be sure to get a room that doesn't face the front courtyard. This is where people hang out and drink and night, and you will hear every word they say. We changed to a room in the back which was much quieter, and for some reason cost only 40RMB instead of 50. I recommend the egg tomato pancake; it's not really a pancake, more like fried bread. The communal dinners are also great value.
That's our problem, we will strive to improve. Thank you for your like egg tomato pancake.
