Great location, rooms are clean but there is a very bad smell in the bathroom. Unfortunately hot water is very limited, despite them saying there is hot water until 12pm, you'll be lucky to get water after 10am. Staff are extremely helpful. I think I would stay here again. Avoid the restaurant though, not enough staff means a long wait for poor food. There are loads of food options nearby. Robert, from Ireland ~ 4th Feb 2012

The mingtown Suzhou deserves its high ratings. Its in a beautiful ancient building on the best ancient street in Suzhou, and still manages to be warm and welcoming. Our room was small, but it was clean and had a comfy four-poster bed! I feel like I always get the stinky bathrooms! The sewage system didn't seem to be functioning well. We had to turn the fan on and shut the bathroom door at night or I thought I was going to gag. However, my friends across the hall had no problems. Breakfast was a bit lame. On the upside - location is fantastic and the room and hostel overall are cute with character!
