The hostel is very clean except for the showers; they are a little slimey. There is some sort of boat theme that is cheesy and makes the hostel more like a jail. The dorm room is completely open with no privacy in the rooms. The lights in the dorm are way too bright adn dont need to be on until 11 pm. kitch is small and crowded when many guests are staying. The wall between rooms does not reach the ceiling so you can hear everything from the whole floor. Lights out at 12 in the dorms and common room, also 'quiet time' in common room. It's not very fun anyway there's hardly any seats so groups can't fit and there is no tv. My friends found the male staff creepy. It felt with some like they were being paid to be your 'friend'. Scottish one swears at people who make noise and I heard him loudly call guests "stupid" when training someone. Hated it. $$$ Kate, from Scotland ~ 29th Dec 2009

Left luggage is kept in unlocked bins in the common area. No doors on dorm rooms. Towels must be rented. Desk closes late at night. Not enough showers. They did have good shower pressure and location is convenient to a lot of SF fun. Nathan, from USA ~ 11th Oct 2009

Here's the same old line , at least from what i've read and seen- The staff was top notch and very helpful. For a small place, i found it quite well as it work for me but i would probably not go if i was not alone only for size ,that's all. I can definitely see why it is highly recommended . Good times! nice people, however you probably won't get much sleep. The night I was there half of the hostel went out and came back about 4am and were so loud on the street below before coming back in and being loud again inside. Pillows are very thin, and wait till you get a load of the 4 stories you have to tote all your stuff at when you get there.
