On the whole this hostel is good - it is clean, has an awesome roof terrace, the staff are friendly and it has a very good atmosphere where we met some really cool people. However a few things are not so good: Firstly despite the dorm being advertised on this site as a 6 bed dorm we arrived to a room that had 17 beds in it - this was ok when the room was not full but the one night we stayed when it was full was not a good nights sleep by any stretch. Secondly one thing they do not tell Read Owner Comments John, from England ~ 22nd Apr 2009

This hostel was a little confusing to get too BUT once you find it you realize it is in a great location very close to the Medina. I enjoyed the hostel and the breakfast was very good. Don't worry, no new stranger arrives without Frodo the dog making sure they are worthy. Ian, from USA ~ 16th Mar 2009

Riad Medina Azahara was one of the top hostels I have ever been to. Truly an international experience, I met people from all over the globe and never once felt unsafe or uncomfortable speaking with anyone there. Hostel is beautiful and very accommodating to your needs. Alexander, from USA ~ 16th Mar 2009

Ok people, here is the RIGHT way to get to this place!!! Follow the first part of the directions... instead of turning RIGHT on the 3rd street (derb), it is LEFT (its a little street). Turn right on the first street, then walk down about 40 meters and THEN turn left. It's the second door on the right. I dont understand why they wrote some other direction... anyways, other than that, good breakfast, nice terrace, ONE bathroom for 15 people. Overall, a 6 out of 10. This Riad has three different houses. Two of them seem nice, but the last one where we ended up was far from worth the price. The room had no window and was cold and moist like a cellar, which was made even worse through the lack of warm water. Also the house was invaded by cats that kept you awake all night with their screaming. This house is also hidden away deep in the alleys and there was no real opportunity for meeting others in this place. So if you go to this Riad, make sure to get a roo Johan, from Sweden ~ 3rd Jan 2009

only complaints: kept running out of toilet paper, and no heating - it was freezing cold in december! other than that, it was EXCELLENT. the breakfast (included in the price) were amazing, and one of my favorite parts of the whole trip. everyone was really friendly, helpful, and respectful. there weren\'t any lockers - but i left all my stuff on my bed the whole time and didn\'t have any problems. it is a gorgeous facility.
