we stayed at the bulldog for three nights in october. the staff is somewhat unattentive (its hard to get their attention at the front desk) but the staff at the bar are really nice and helpful. the rooms were decent and i have definitely slept on worse beds. the happy hour and bar in the hostel are alot of fun and really popular. the coffeeshop next door has some decent priced weed too. the location is perfect. you are in walking distance to everywhere Danielle, from USA ~ 26th Oct 2009

i really enjoyed the hostel, though improvement in the staff, or in how they treat their guests is a must. They are not very nice or helpful. Actually they could be down right mean if you happen to "bother" them at the wrong time. when i return to amsterdam i will probably search out other accomidations because of this serious flaw in the personability of the bull dog staff. The hotel was very clean and had a good breakfast. They always checked hotel passes for visitors and refused anyone entry who was not staying in the hotel. excellent staff and great experience. Larry, from USA ~ 7th May 2009
