Lighthouse was a fantastic hostel, staff were lively, friendly, knowledgeable and spoke english well. The security was fantastic and the location very central to the beach.... Silvia is the owner - she is a electric and memorable lady...highly recommended.

Nice little hostel in a great location a few blocks away from Ipanema beach. It shares a patio with other hostels so there is plenty of oportunity to meet other travellers. But the best of all is the staff, they are really friendly, fun and helpful. They make your stay very pleasant! :D

What can I say, this place was sweet ass!! Silvia the owner is an on the ball manager that over exceeds the expectations of most hostels. This place has a great location for Rio, they offer a good variety of tours, and they have a really good heads up on what's happening in the city.
If you show up late at night and there is a big dude at the door that has a pretty intimidating look, don't be scared the guy is a teddy bear.
