By far the best hostel we stayed at over our 9 week trek of Europe. It was clean, modern, safe and Charlie and Abi were wonderful. It really felt like a home away from home - and it's cheap! I would love to stay here again if i had the chance. I recommend it to anyone :) Thank you guys!

A friend and I stayed two nights at the Riverhouse as part of our fall break trip. It was fantastic - very clean (definitely the cleanest hostel I've ever been in), good (free) breakfast, and super-nice staff that did not mind us checking in at one in the morning. However, if you are traveling to Cardiff, I recommend staying a maximum of two nights; there are only so many things to do, and the nightlife (we were there on a Wednesday) was fairly quiet.

The hostel was in a prime place of Cardiff and was superbly clean and secure. The staff were nice, friendly and helpful and the actual hostel itself is very cosy. We, however were expecting a youth hostel and the general age of the people was not youthful. There was nothing going on in terms of getting to know the other travellers, no organised activites, or any nightlife advice. For the price of £20 a night you could stay in a hotel rather than a dorm room.
