Xiangzimen International Youth Hostel dans Xi'an, China

The showers for the dorms are pretty bad but not awful. The bar is full of locals (it is a hot spot for some reason) and drinks are overpriced, even for a hostel bar. The day you check out your keycard will not work. For example, if, on your last day there, you wake up at 10AM and go shower your keycard will not open the door and you have to go all the way to the front to get the card activated. Beautiful old building, friendly and fun staff speaks excellent English or are willing to be patient while you practice your Chinese, overall very clean although there was an odor floating out of my bathroom drain (but if you can\'t handle bad smells maybe you shouldn\'t be traveling in China). Food in restaurant is only so-so and it\'s a bit overpriced, but the bar is quite nice and good value. I\'d definitely go back. Monica, from USA ~ 5th Nov 2009
